About Virafo

A small oversight revealed a bigger problem.

A missing bottle of shampoo. A rental that could have been cleaner. And a question that became Virafo.

We’re building a clearer way for short-term rental operators to understand property conditions, without having to be everywhere at once.

Our story

It started with a missing bottle of shampoo.

“If I owned this property, how would I know it was ready?”

A small question

During an Airbnb stay, our co-founder Gustas noticed that some essentials were missing, including shampoo, and parts of the space weren’t as clean as they could have been.

It wasn’t a major disaster. But it raised a question: if he owned this property, how would he know whether everything was ready for the next guest?

A familiar operational problem

He discussed the idea with his father, who works in real estate and had experience with short-term rentals, including cabins located away from the city.

The challenge was familiar. Communication between cleaners and property operators wasn’t always enough to understand what had really happened. Sometimes, checking a problem meant driving around 40 minutes to a cabin just to inspect the situation.

A clearer opportunity

That conversation helped shape the idea behind Virafo: giving operators a better way to review photographic evidence of turnovers, identify possible issues, and understand property readiness remotely.

Building Virafo together

Gustas knew building the company properly would require more than one person. He invited Timas Šegžda to join him, bringing experience in building e-commerce businesses and managing business operations.

Together, they began building Virafo around a simple principle: property operators should have better visibility into what happens between guests.

Our mission

Give short-term rental operators reliable visibility into property turnover conditions, helping them maintain standards without being physically present at every property.

Our vision

Become the world’s trusted property-readiness verification platform, making it easier to know whether a property meets its expected standards before its next guest arrives.

What we believe

Principles for building something people can trust.

  1. 01

    Evidence over assumptions

Decisions should be supported by what property photographs actually show.

  2. 02

    Accuracy over hype

We won’t promise AI can detect what the photographs cannot reveal.

  3. 03

    Built around real workflows

Verification should make life easier for operators without adding unnecessary work for cleaners.

  4. 04

    Improve with real feedback

We want to build around real customer experiences, not assumptions.

  2. Beta Testing

Work toward beta testing with selected property operators, improving usability, verification reliability and the overall workflow through real feedback.

    Target
  3. Public Product Release

Target a production-ready, paid public release, subject to product quality, security and operational readiness.

    Target
  4. Prove Product–Market Fit

Focus on paying customers, measurable operator value, reliable verification and repeatable onboarding.

    Planned
  5. Grow Within the United States
